If you are student and speak in English, I think it is much easier to live in western country for you. I have lived in AG, many friends of mine are Korean Australian and Chinese Australian and they all the time help me kindly and I like them. But in Japan I am coming back and there are many issues between Korean and Japanese. Of course Korea living in AG are deferent from Korea living in Korea and Korea living in Japan.
So your question does not have point of view. I can not catch what you want to know.
Japanese and Korea have so similar culture if you can stay in Western countries. But if you have not been there, you can not see who youre from outside perspective.
Japan has still seriously gender gap and discrimination and Korea as well. We need to grew up each other.
